Lake Tarawera Trail
The Department of Conservation is presently planning to build a 60 km walking track around the shores of Lake Tarawera in Rotorua. The track will be known as the Tarawera Trail.
It is proposed that the trail be a oint venture between DOC and two local hapu. DOC will provide the trail and the hapu will provide accommodation and transport services.
Natural Resource Solutions is assisting DOC to complete the funding bid to Cabinet for the track.
