Recent DOC work on economic impacts

Over the past couple of years the Department of Conservation has contracted professional advice about the nature and scale of the economic impacts of the management of public conservation land on the West Coast, South Island and the Abel Tasman National Park and Queen Charlotte Track. These reports demonstrate the significant contributions that public conservation land and its management make to our economy.

The report shows that Abel Tasman and Queen Charlotte Track contribute $54.4 million per year to the economies of the Nelson Tasman region and Marlborough.
