TIA and DOC Concession Allocation Evenings
14 July 2006
TIA and DOC are holding forums in the South Island to discuss the allocation of concessions to operate commercial activities on publicly owned conservation lands.
DOC proposes to limit the number of concessions it issues in some ‘hotspots’. The issue is a small, but growing one and is almost exclusively related to concession activity in the South Island.
Letters have been sent to concessionaires in the Southland, West Coast, Otago, Canterbury and Nelson conservancies. A forum will also be run on 24 August in Wellington in conjunction with the Tourism Industry Conference.
